📖 Literary Activities at IEAS
IEAS encourages language development, creativity, and public speaking skills through a variety of literary events and competitions across all grades.
✨ Literary Events (Kindergarten to Secondary)
These are conducted in classroom activities, interclass, and inter-house competitions.
🌼 Kindergarten Literary Competitions
(Students may choose to participate in 1 of 3 from the 5 options)
- Recitation Competition
- Poem choice (8–10 lines)
- Diction, clarity, expression, and confidence
- Storytelling Competition
- Story choice, moral, props, clarity, expression
- Show & Tell Competition
- Public speaking with a prop
- Content, clarity, diction, and stage presence
🗣 Primary & Secondary Literary Events
Part of both intra- and inter-school activities. These may include:
- Debates
- Elocution
- Essay Writing
- Extempore
- Quizzes
- Creative Writing
- Poetry Recitation
🔸 Participation in these helps earn points toward General Proficiency Awards and House Competitions.
🏆 Recognition & Awards
- General Proficiency includes points for literary activity participation:
- Assemblies – 5 points
- Inter-house activities – 1 to 5 points
- Inter-school literary events – 5 points each
- Subject Excellence Awards may be granted for outstanding performance in English, Hindi, French, or Arabic
