Greetings from Indian English Academy School!
Dear Staff, Students and Parents,
With a deep feeling of gratitude to God, our management, staff, parents and students that I pen these few words on the very day all of us are overjoyed on receiving the “good news” about the excellent and enhancing results of our Grade XII students at the CBSE Board Exam 2013. It only confirms our belief that the hard-work of our students – teachers combine, pays rich dividend. It is in this regard I would like to quote the words of the great Cardinal and engaging preacher, John Henry Newman, “Fear not that thy life shall come to an end, but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning.” True to the charisma of our Father and Founder St. John Bosco, we are here to give our students a taste of sweet successes in the smaller avenues of life during their sojourn at the IEASian home. Then, being motivated and spurred onto higher goals of achievement, they start to make life happen in the fast-paced world; thereon aspiring to still greater heights of inner satisfaction and fortitude never to find a dull moment each day.
Every child that comes into this world assures us of one thing, that God is not yet discouraged with humankind. We ought to remember that all of us are unique individuals and have come into being because of God’s personal choice. They say we are made in His image and likeness and that each of us have come into existence with a sure belief that God will never abandon us.
According to an ancient Indian fable, a mouse was in constant distress because of its fear of the cat. A magician who looked at the mouse’s condition decided to make it a cat but then in its turn it got frightened of the dog and so on till the magician changed it to a panther that got scared of the hunter. At the end of it all the magician gave up and told the mouse, “Nothing I do for you is of any help because you have the heart of a mouse”. At IEAS the child is constantly taught to look up to the motto of the school which reads: You are born for greater things.
Yes, in this world of challenge and constant change there is so much our kids have to be prepared for. They cannot afford to let go of any opportunity to pass them by. In fact, much depends on genuine parental guidance, sometimes at the cost of great personal sacrifice in order to watch kids attain perfection and perform at different levels; be it at home, in school, in society, in life. Personally, it pains me to see that some of our students have never participated in any annual program through all their schooling years at IEAS. Some have never participated in the variety of upbeat musicals year after year. Many grab these opportunities and grow exceeding while others just tend to stagnate. Unfortunately, this trend is noticed specifically among our high school students. They make no contribution to the school in anyway be it in participating in the program, contribution to school magazine or the like. It is so sad that even parents tend to be less generous with the school as their children graduate to high school. Let us get involved in the world so that the world will never regret having us occupy space on planet Earth. We all ought to join hands to make a difference as each of us makes a unique contribution to humanity.
My personal appreciation and gratitude goes out to our outgoing Administrator, Fr. Francisco Pereira sdb for his unstinted devotion to duty and his pain-staking concern for the good of everyone at IEAS, over the past four year. He has become so much a part of our Annual Day celebrations and, in particular, his passion for directing wholesome musicals. I wish him success on his appointment as Procurator of the Vicariate of Northern Arabia. Adios Fr. Franco!
A special word of thanks also goes out to you dear parents who have stood by the IEASian Dream; for believing in its system and its delivery over the past 11 years. Those who have lost faith in our system have left us; but those of you, diehards of the Don Bosco Way, dared to stay on and contribute to make life at IEAS a veritable experience. Finally, a big ‘THANK YOU’ to all our sponsors, donors and advertisers for your generosity and concern for the growth and development of IEAS! Viva IEAS!
Viva IEASians! Long Live Our Father and Founder Don Bosco!
